Merry, Merry Indeed.

Wine and blackberry smoke.

What's a little wine and hookah between friends?

Such a good Christmas this year. For the first time in so long, I got everything I asked for and everything I truly needed.

Justin got me an hour with Tegan to cover up the monstroisty on my shoulder, I spent some time with my family that I actually enjoyed. I came home and am spending a relaxing evening with my roommates and tommy drinking wine and smoking hookah. Happy Holidays everyone.

Vacation Aka: Dubs At The Beach

As of 10pm tonight I am officially on V A C A T I O N ! ! ! Who has to thumbs and is practically peeing herself with excitement?! THIS KID! 😀

We’re leaving at 2am and driving straight down to beautiful, Ocean City, Maryland.

Ocean City

I can’t believe it’s already here, H20i!  I can’t wait for the Shenanigans with Paul… he always brings some sort of crazy import EuroBooze (Ie Stroh or  real absinthe) and I heard that Sir Rod is in town.

Ahhhh… Yuengling on the beach on the beach! I can almost already taste it!! YEEEEEEE! We are taking Franz, the Mk 5 Rabbit down, not the Cabby. We hit a nast pothole coming back from Broke.Down in Gardner last month that bent a lip on one of the front rims. SAD PANDA.

The Cabby! We aren't taking her. 😦

I am looking forward to seeing everyone’s cars, like Brain’s Mk1 rabbit that has been in the shop longer than I’ve known him and the infamous Louise, Pauls ’78 Chromed out rabbit.

Chromed Brakes on Louise

Chromosexual.

Louise! ❤

Watermelon. Shaken, Not Stirred

Is there a fruit that’s more tied to summer than watermelon? Is there a season better suited to day drinking than summer? The answer, to both, would be no. Which is why spiked watermelon is so perfect this time of year. Refreshing. Relaxing. So kick back and chow down on a simple treat, laced with a reminder not to take things too seriously. Here’s how to make it happen.

Look for a round watermelon (which will disperse the alcohol more evenly) and cut a small, round hole into the rind. A square or triangle-shaped plug might crack the melon. Remove it with a corkscrew.

Break up the pulp inside just slightly with a grill skewer, a wooden spoon handle or anything long enough to make a little room for the booze. You may need to let some of the juice out.

Add the alcohol, by either inserting the bottleneck into the hole or pouring little by little into a funnel. You’ll only need about half a bottle to saturate the melon. Replace the plug and refrigerate for a few hours.

What Booze to Use:

No need to get fancy. You want to taste the watermelon, not some exotic flavored liqueur. We suggest vodka. Or tequila. Then try serving slices with a wedge of lime and some salt.

**A spiked watermelon is an illegal open container of alcohol within most States.

Sold on merit.
